Emma Rothstein

Emma qualified as a solicitor in 2006 and joined Pearson Hards from another Surrey firm where she had sole responsibility for the family and matrimonial work. She became Partner in charge of the Family Department in February 2017 and works closely with the family team. Emma specialises in all aspects of family law including divorce, co-habitation, children and pre/post nuptial agreements.

Emma is a dedicated member of Resolution, a group of family lawyers committed to dealing with matters in a more constructive and conciliatory manner. In January 2017, Emma obtained specialist Resolution accreditation in complex financial matters and has a great deal of experience in the most problematic of cases and difficult opposition. Emma is well known by other lawyers in the Surrey area for her practical and pragmatic approach to problem solving which always assists clients in getting a quick a resolution to their issues as soon and as cost effectively as possible.

Emma recognises that during difficult periods of family separation, tension and resentment can all too often occur, putting an even greater strain upon all those involved. Emma’s approach is to try to ensure that every family case is dealt with in a way to avoid unnecessary conflict and aggression. Emma is experienced in thinking outside the box and catering for clients’ needs in a subjective way to suit each individual family’s priorities and demands.

Emma is a mum of two young children herself so understands and is able to empathise with the demands of parents well. When she is not running around after her busy family, Emma is known to treat shopping as a competitive sport and enjoys catching up with friends over a nice chilled glass of Chablis.
