Kim Galloway’s Story

Pearson Hards are a friendly, approachable firm and offer a high standard of service, all staff members adopt the same policy towards our clients which enables us to offer the same standard of service throughout all departments. Consistency is key.

I worked at Chapmans for 17 years prior to merging with Pearson Hards and they installed the same policies as mentioned above. When the merger was announced, due to the distance of Pearson Hards office from home I decided to look for another job closer to home.

I did go to another firm doing exactly the same role and within a week I knew I had made the wrong decision. I did not feel valued or part of a team in that short space of time, more like an inconvenience and merely a number. Fortunately for me, I was very quickly re-instated with Chapmans. The move to Pearson Hards was painless and I very quickly felt at home and part of the team. For me, this factor is most important as you spend a long time at work and feeling valued as a member of staff is high on the list of priorities alongside the firm’s policies on the service we provide to our clients.

The Partners and Managers have always been keen to support development and on numerous occasions offered ways in doing so in order to develop my career to its full potential. They have a very open-door policy and are approachable no matter how big or small an issue may be.

They have always been very proactive in offering/assisting with solutions to the same. I have always felt at ease in this respect and felt I could approach any of the partners/line managers if needed. My Head of Department is particularly good at “checking in” on a more personal level with regards to well-being, which is appreciated, particularly when we have high workloads.

We are regularly asked for input on what’s working well and how things could be improved for us and for clients. I feel very comfortable giving feedback and that our opinions matter.  All comments/suggestions are always taken on board.

We are praised and rewarded accordingly, and any praise given is usually shared firm wide in order to acknowledge any individuals.
