The guide is designed for use by solicitors in England and Wales and its contributors are all leading experts in their field. Gillian has written two chapters in the guide. One chapter is on the Appointment of Guardians and the other is on Time Limits. The Appointment of Guardians is often a difficult decision for couples with children under 18 and solicitors can often help in the decision-making process by talking issues over with clients and suggesting ways of including particular wishes in Wills. Being aware of Time Limits is crucial in dealing with an estate effectively and should also be considered in lifetime estate planning and tax saving measures.

Gillian is a contributor to Kelly’s Draftsman and has written for publications such as the Law Society’s Gazette, and The Solicitors Journal and has also presented a paper on the law of succession in England and Wales to the European Commission in Strasbourg.

Gillian has contributed comment in legal and other features appearing in The Daily Telegraph and The Independent. Gillian has taken part in a radio phone in for BBC Radio looking at the effectiveness of Living Wills. In 2011 Gillian was a guest expert on a BBC TV Money Programme which looked at the importance of making a Will.

Gillian lives in the Guildford area and is a member of a local Anglican Church. In her spare time she enjoys music of all types, travelling and the theatre.
